Alex started singing and playing concertina in a duo in Perth, WA in 1985.
Upon moving to Darwin and whilst working in laboratories, she added a spot of mandolin playing (Prickly Heat band), Morris dancing (Gone Troppo mixed side), sound mixing (Top End Folk Club and Gutter Press folk-rock band), a cappella harmony singing (No Strings Attached / Sweet Mermaids From Hell / Soundscape / The Wantons / The Stingers), choral (Darwin Chorale) and musical theatre (Yerma / Aussie Shorts / Ruddygore / Disenchantment / Strong With the Women ) and then commenced a Fine Art degree!

Alex moved to Brisbane in 1994 to complete her degree, though she managed to fit in singing with Mara Kiek’s Home Lands Choir (Bulgarian) and a season of musical theatre in Boadicea.
Upon moving to Maleny, there was a tug-of-war for her to be in not only WORK-IN-PROGRESS and FINE COTTON, but also The NOEL GARDNER TRIO it’s OK, they all share her now!! Alex also works as a visual artist.
